As of writing this, Disney has not yet updated the Already Book > Ground Transportation screen to add in New York. Google searches for other DCL pages regarding the New York cruise terminal have been eaten by Stitch. I’m sure they will be back in due time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

I’m excited that Disney is returning to sail out of New York, as, honestly, it adds to the reasons of my reviews from the recent family trip. There are several cruise ship ports in and around New York City. Previously, Disney used the Manhattan cruise terminal.<\/p>\n\n\n

This is roughly a 40 min car ride from where we stayed in Brooklyn, so it is entirely conceivable that one may stay\/eat\/explore in Brooklyn. Just like any city\/neighborhood, Brooklyn has good and bad pockets. Luckily, I only saw the good ones. For example, I left one family event and walked, alone, at 10pm, back to the hotel. It was maybe a total of 6 blocks. While I maintained awareness of my surroundings, I didn’t feel in danger at any point… unless one counts a guy opening a fire hydrant and aiming it at the bus stop bench I and some other women were sitting on. (No, one should not count that as it is out of context.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Brooklyn is incredibly family friendly with lots of gems – from businesses to restaurants to hotels to tourist type locations. I loved seeing all the street art. I think that anyone with resources (time\/money) and the inclination should spend some time in Brooklyn before or after a Disney cruise.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
