On our most recent cruise, I was provided with a $50 spa credit (on port days only) for cruising in my birth month. I don't know if this is new, or because we are Gold level Castaway Club. I state that because we have cruised in Daniel's birth month as Silver Castaway in 2024 and did not receive this. Or it could have been to drum up sales as I doubt many folks stayed onboard during port days in Alaska.

The credit was for me only and couldn't be transferred to anyone else. As many folk know, spa services aren't cheap and while $50 is nice, it wouldn't even cover half of a service. While I did not go into port most of our port days, I'm not really a spa person. We made a point to get our mani/pedis before the cruise (as it is much cheaper (with tip) than on board!) I've had bad experiences with massages onboard, don't need facials, and am not up for trying some of the other spa services that cross into 'health' territory.

To be fair, I did go to an open house to learn more about options using acupuncture, but it was just fat shaming and talk about health issues I've already been working on with my docs and a nutritionist.I opted not to pursue it, as acupuncture is covered by my health insurance and much cheaper than onboard.

Has anyone else had this perk recently?
